Nomex®

Nomex ® insulating products (Thermal cl 220°C) are made from an aromatic polyamide (polymer) that is resistant to a wide range of temperatures (from -196 degrees to 300 degrees). These flexible insulating materials can be shaped at cold or hot temperatures and has high chemical and mechanical resistant properties.

- Nomex® T410 NOMEX T410 paper is heat calendered, this technique confers to NOMEX paper an excellent compromise in terms of dielectric and mechanical properties, as well as resilience.

- Nomex® T411 NOMEX® T411 paper is uncalendered, it is the precursor of NOMEX® T410 paper. It has weaker mechanical and dielectrical properties and it is recommended when impregnation, deformability and flexibility are required.

- Fibre Nomex® T450 2,2 dtex. A notable improvement in the retention of impregnation resins is obtained thanks to a pretreatment of the fiber by heating (about one hour at 200°C).

- Nomex® T414 : NOMEX® T414 paper is designed for applications requiring a combination of dielectric and mechanical
properties, flexibility and saturability.

- Nomex® T418 NOMEX® T418 paper is designed for high voltage end-uses. It is calendered, made up of aramid fibers and mica flakes. Compared to NOMEX® T410, NOMEX® T418 has better dielectric properties and an higher resistance to corona discharges.

- Nomex® T419 NOMEX® T419 paper is uncalendered, it is the precursor of NOMEX® T418 paper. It is made up of aramid fibers and mica flakes. It has weaker mechanical and electrical properties and it is recommended if improved
impregnation and deformation are required.
NOMEX® T419 paper is designed for high voltage end-uses.

- NOMEXBOND Calendered NOMEX® paper, coated with silicon resin on one or both sides. Better thermal resistance than epoxy coated NOMEX®. After coating, the resin is cured by heating until an intermediate stage: stage B. Once the coated paper is fit into the electrical equipment, the polymerisation is completed under heat and pressure, thus enabling excellent cohesion of the whole.

- Nomex® E56: NOMEX® E56A paper has mechanical and electrical properties which are situated between those of
NOMEX® T410 and NOMEX® T411. As for thermal properties, it is as efficient as NOMEX® T410.

- Nomex® T994 NOMEX® T994 is a high density pressboard offering a combination of high resistance to compression, relevant impregnation and excellent performances in air and oil. This pressboard has superior dielectric properties compared to T992 and T993.

- Nomex® T992 : NOMEX® T992 is a low density pressboard offering a combination of excellent deformability, relevant

- Nomex® needled felt NOMEX® felt is available in a lot of different forms. In addition to the simple felt form, it is possible to insert an additional reinforcement (NOMEX® grille) in order to decrease the deformability of the product, or to apply specific treatments (blazing, calendering, impregnation...). All of those products can be tailor-made, according to user specifications.
