PET Mylar®

Mylar polyester film is a bi-directional flexible film with an exceptional technical quality/price ratio. This polyester film is made of Polyethylene Terephtalate (PET) and is an ideal insulating material for a wide range of electrical, mechanical, graphic and model-making uses (for example, vacuum packaged wing stratification).

Key properties :

  • very good dielectrical strength
  • high mechanical resistance (traction, impacts)

  • very large thickness range (from 1µ up to 480 µ)
  • very large available width (up to over 3000 mm)

  • visual aspect on demand, clear, hazy, milky, white opaque film
  • coating in order to improve adhesion (adhesives, inks, resins).

The most known trademarks are Mylar® and MELINEX® from Dupont de Nemours, Lumirror® from Toray, Hostaphan® from Mitsubishi.

PEN films

PEN (Poly Ethylene Naphtalate) films are « super » polyesters:
  • the application temperature improves from 105 to 155°C
  • better resistance to hydrolysis
  • better resistance to radiations
  • inferior thermal contraction
  • highly improved mechanical resistance
  • Tg improves from 82 to 122°C
